The Lenoir-Rhyne University Web Redesign Project

New LR Website Beta Preview – Sept. 13-24

After more than 15 months of project work, Marketing and Communications is pleased to offer the Lenoir-Rhyne community a beta preview of the new, redesigned website Sept. 13-24 – https://dev.lr.edu.

The new website will launch during fall break Oct. 11-12.

How You Can Help

During the beta preview, we ask university faculty and staff to review the new website, in particular, areas of the site to which you are responsible and submit any content updates, changes or issues using our online web content update request form. You can submit changes within the form fields or by attaching Word documents.

  • Campus Directoryhttps://dev.lr.edu/about/directory
Review your campus directory listing and provide any updates to your biography or contact information. The new campus directory pulls faculty and staff contact information directly from PowerCampus. So any changes will be made in PowerCampus and will take 1-2 days to be reflected in the directory during the beta preview period.
  • Academic Program Pageshttps://dev.lr.edu/degree-program-finder
These are major, minor, graduate program and seminary program pages – review these pages and submit any content updates or issues using the web content update request form. Please note that some information, specifically program requirements, course listings and course descriptions are now pulled directly from the new LR digital catalog at https://catalog.lr.edu.
  • Department or Office Pageshttps://dev.lr.edu
These are found throughout the site under the primary navigation sections – admission, academics, financial aid & costs, student life, campuses and about as well as in the secondary navigation (alumni and give), and in the footer of the website.
Review your department or office webpages and let us know if anything needs to change with your pages. Please note that the new website uses a topic-based navigation to make it easier for prospective students, current students and parents to find information. The new website is not organized by our LR organizational chart since this type of organization can be hard for new visitors to our website.

Items Not Functional Until Launch on October 11-12

  • Website Search Engine
The website search engine will not work during the beta preview period. The new website search uses Google Search and will not work until we launch the new site under www.lr.edu and we index the new site for search.
  • Website Forms
Website forms will not work during the beta preview period. You may find links to online forms throughout the website. Forms will be fully functional when moved under www.lr.edu on Oct. 11-12.

Style & Formatting Considerations

  • The new website follows Associated Press (AP) style and is in alignment with the brand messaging framework that we developed in summer 2019 with Carnegie Dartlet.
  • Comma in a series (or Oxford comma) – we follow AP style and don’t use a comma in series.
  • Webpage addresses may change. We have a redirection plan that will redirect any currently used URLs to new URLs. Current short link redirects will also be added to the new website.
